Sarah Healey

Sarah grew up on Partington Ridge in Big Sur and studied and lived in England for many years as a jewelry designer. She moved back to Big Sur with her family, four years ago.

 Sarah’s new paintings derive from taking long hikes up in the mountainous ridges that surround her home. There she paints and sketches. Her attention to the weight and mass of the land and the vastness of the ocean and the sky reveal her passion and deep connection to Big Sur. Her mixed media paintings are colorful abstractions of the landscape.

“The wildness of the landscape and the constantly changing light and colors are an inspiration for me and I try to capture in my paintings what I feel about coming home”.

Sarah studied at the West Sussex College of Design and at the Sir John Cass College , London .
